AKC HUNT TEST AND COMPETITION TRAINING

For those who enjoy the thrill of competition, Weston’s Kennels has developed a successful Hunt Test and Field Trial Training Program to prepare your dog for the level you pursue.  Situations can arise, during these events that can test even the most seasoned individuals and dogs. Below are examples of the extra things incorporated in our Hunt Test & Trial Programs.
           
Added pressure on Field Trial & Senior Hunter/Master Hunter dogs by using many non-flying and walking quail

Different types of liberated finds on a mock back course

Bird launchers and hand thrown birds will be used on Senior Hunter and Master Hunter dogs to duplicate a stop to flush situation

Teaching Senior Hunter and Master Hunter dogs to back naturally in “Call Back” situations using all the different breeds of pointing dogs at the hunt test

Horses are used to set a “real test” environment 

Train owners to be hunt test ready with their dogs

The proof of success in competition is defined by “Your dog doing perfect, stylish work”; ribbons and trophies are the icing on the cake.

Because Weston’s Kennels feels so strongly about our breeding program that produces the best of hunting qualities, potential for field  and hunting champions; we will offer incentives to those families who choose to enter their dog in AKC or NAVHDA trials or events.  

If your dog achieves either; AKC Champion, Field Champion, Amateur Field Trial Champion, Senior Hunt or Master Hunt test title, AKC Companion dog title, or NAVDHA Natural Ability or Utility title, we will offer a fifty (50%) discount on the next puppy purchased from Weston’s Kennels.  A picture and copy of the title will be required for the discount.
