We want to help you enjoy years of team success with your dog, as we have. A proven training program that incorporates an understanding of how dogs learn is essential for a dog to develop into a bragging rights hunting companion you deserve.
Puppies
$500
All of our puppies have been wormed, received initial immunizations and have been examined by a veterinarian. A veterinarian health certificate accompanies each puppy. All litters are registered with the American Kennel Club and our breeding dogs are X-rayed to insure sound patella, elbows and hips.
Puppies are available for pick up at the facility where they were whelped. Puppies can be shipped via air carrier at eight weeks of age.
A deposit of $200 will reserve a puppy. Of course, if Mother Nature does not cooperate or your sex preference is not available you may either reserve a pup from another litter or have your deposit refunded.
To reserve a puppy contact our office. Dave or Phil will call you and discuss the breeding and your requirements with you.
Level I
$1,000
Sixteen Weeks of age
A level I dog will have had proper introduction to live birds and has run in the fields. He will have been in the house and will have begun yard training work.
A dog that has been exposed to critical environmental factors during the imprinting stage has a mind that is open to learning. It is a joy to work with such a dog. If a hunting dog is to maximize his full genetic potential, it is imperative that the dog is properly exposed to live birds and that he receives a measure of basic, consistent structure during the imprinting period. We are dog trainers. Letting us prepare your young dog for his future training with you and having us take care of the necessary foundational prerequisites is money well spent. Do it right from the start. Then spend time with us and formulate a plan for the direction to take with your dog.
Level II
$1,500
Twenty to twenty-four weeks of age
A Level II dog has been properly introduced to live birds and the gun. He has had a number of birds shot over him. The pup will have been in the house and is fully socialized with people and other dogs. Initial yard work is well started and the dog understands the basic commands of "sit," "kennel" and "here."
The imprinting stage spans the developmental time frame from six weeks to twenty weeks of age. The most crucial period is from eight to sixteen weeks of age. It is critical that the dog be exposed to live birds, the field and basic structure during this period if the dog is to maximize his full potential.
Allowing us to prepare the dog and properly lay the necessary foundation is a sage investment. Preventative medicine is better than surgery after the fact.
Level III
$2,000
Eight to twelve months of age
A level III dog is more advanced than the level II dog. In addition to having hunting experience, a level III dog has been fully conditioned with the electronic collar, and his basic yard-training has been complete. A level III dog is ready to graduate to more advanced training involving staunchness on point, steadying to wing and shot, backing and retrieving. Preliminary X-rays on the hips, elbows and patella have been done.
Level IV
$3,500
Eighteen to twenty-four months of age
A Level IV dog is ready to take hunting. He holds point, hunts in range and in control and is fully obedience trained in the field. The Level IV dog is ready to put his training to work in a first year hunting season as a trained dog to gain the skills that will make him a polished veteran performer.
We prefer billing arrangements by credit card if possible. All fees are inclusive of their stay during training. Shipping arrangements are at owner’s expense and can be handled by the dog owner or Weston’s Kennels if you desire.
